| Frontier Girls is a 501(c)3 public charity and is 100% volunteer run. We have no paid employees and do our very best to keep our costs as low as possible. As we grow, we hope to be able to reduce the costs for our members even further. Below is an outline of costs that you can expect while participating in Frontier Girls as well as information on our fund raising. $150 Annual Charter Registration Fee - Each troop must be chartered by a local nonprofit (church, school, veterans group, Moose Lodge, Elks Club, Kiwanis, etc.). This fee is paid to the Frontier Girls organization and covers the cost of printing and shipping start up materials such as the Leader Handbook, Record Keeping Binder and Financial Binders, brochures and other marketing materials, as well as organizational costs such as legal and accounting fees. Supplements to your Leader Handbook and Badge List as well as other support materials will be shipped as they become available. For an average troop of 10 girls, this adds an additional $15 per girl cost that will either need to be paid by the Charter Organization, the parents, or raised through troop fund raising efforts. $30 Annual Girl Registration Fee - This fee is paid to the Frontier Girls organization to help with the insurance, legal, accounting and office expenses incurred in running this program. Each girl will receive a membership pin and a CD copy of the Girl/Parent handbook as well as supplements to the handbook and badge list as they become available. Printed copies of the handbook are available for a small donation. Troop Dues - Dues will be decided by each troop based upon the activities they wish to pursue, but should average around $2 per girl per meeting. Dues are payable directly to the troop and are owed regardless of whether or not a girl attends a meeting since supplies are purchased with the assumption that everyone will be there. Exceptions can be made under special circumstances. Dues can be paid per meeting, or in a lump sum for the year and should be paid directly to the troop. Uniforms - Frontier Girls requires all girls to have a complete uniform. Uniforms will run between $20 and $75 depending on the styles and sizes you choose, where you purchase your pieces, and whether you choose to make your own vest or purchase one ready made. Blue jeans are fine as long as they are clean, with no holes or colorful designs. Badges & Awards - Merit Badges are $.99 each and awards range from $3 - $10. We want our girls to be known for patriotism, good character, and community service, not for the product they sell. Each troop conducts their own fund raisers and keeps 100% of the money earned. More information on approved fund raisers can be found in our Leader Handbook. |
