Ready to join Frontier Girls?
Many members begin as individuals until they can find enough friends to form a troop.  If several
girls in a geographic area are interested in joining Frontier Girls, but a leader cannot be found,
consider enrolling the girls as individuals.  While there is no official troop or leader, the girls are still
welcome to get together to work on badges and awards, as well as participate in group activities
such as campouts or community service projects.

Option #1 -  Start a Frontier Girls Troop

A troop, or group, formation is the most popular method of participating in Frontier Girls
programming.  Groups of anywhere from two to thirty or more girls may form a "Troop" with one
leader, and one or more assistant leaders.  Girls attend routine meetings, working on badges,
activities and service projects as a team.

With today’s busy schedules it is difficult to get children to the many activities they wish to pursue.
For this reason, girls in grades K-12 can all be part of the same Frontier Girls troop.  This allows
families with more than one girl to be part of a single troop so as not to add even more stress to the
family schedule.  This also allows older girls to act in leadership roles to teach and mentor the
younger members, while providing the younger girls with role models closer to their own age.  Within
the troop, girls are divided into different program levels based on their age.  Flag ceremonies,
songs, snacks, and troop business are all done as a troop.  Girls may be divided into different
program levels to work on various badge requirements when needed, though we suggest keeping
them together whenever possible.

Option #2 - Join an existing troop

All troops are individually owned and operated.  Frontier Girls cannot guarantee troop placement.  If
you have contacted a local troop leader and have received permission to join their group, register
here.

Option #3 - Join as an individual

Our Pioneer Program is designed for girls who are either unable to find a troop or simply prefer to
operate as an individual.   Parents act as their daughter's leader and are invited to join our leader's
Yahoogroup for support and ideas.  The girls can connect with other girls in the Pioneer program
through our safe, monitored Yahoogroup just for them.
