Take the Lead!
Program Options There are several ways to participate in Frontier Girls. Find the one that works best for you.
|
Option #1 - Frontier Girls Troop:
A troop, or group, formation is the most popular method of
participating in Frontier Girls programming. Groups of anywhere
from three to thirty or more girls may form a "Troop" with one leader,
and one or more assistant leaders. Girls attend routine meetings,
working on badges, activities and service projects as a team.
With today’s busy schedules it is difficult to get children to the many
activities they wish to pursue. For this reason, girls in grades K-12
can all be part of the same Frontier Girls troop. This allows families
with more than one girl to be part of a single troop so as not to add
even more stress to the family schedule. This also allows older girls
to act in leadership roles to teach and mentor the younger members,
while providing the younger girls with role models closer to their own
age. Within the troop, girls are divided into different program levels
based on their age. Flag ceremonies, songs, snacks, and troop
business are all done as a troop. Girls may be divided into different
program levels to work on various badge requirements when needed
though we suggest keeping them together whenever possible.
Option #2 - Frontier Girls Pioneer
Program:
Our Pioneer Program is designed for girls who are either unable to
find a troop that works for them, or simply wish to participate as an
individual. Parents act as their daughters leader and are invited to
join our leader's Yahoogroup for support and ideas. The girls can
connect with other girls in the Pioneer program through our safe,
monitored web connection.
Option #3 - Frontier Girls Patriot
Program:
The Patriot Program is a program to specifically honor girls of
military families. If a girl has one or both parents serving in the
military she is automatically enrolled as a Patriot. She may
participate in Frontier Girls as either an individual or through a
troop, but will have the added honor of wearing our Patriot ribbon
and pin on her uniform and will have access to resources specifically
for military families.
Since many military families move frequently, we have created a
special Yahoogroup just for them so that they can keep in touch with
other Frontier Girl military families around the world. When they
move to a new area, it is a simple matter of finding out if there are
any other Patriots around. For more information click here.
